If anyone would have told us that in the year 2020, we would be dealing with a world pandemic, I think we would all probably laugh out loud! Yet lo’ and behold here we are. Everyone is getting used to a new normal… social distancing and the use of face coverings to protect us from virus’s! Not to mention all the stress that comes with adjusting to a new normal. How could all this possibly affect your skin you ask?


Your skin is the largest organ on your body, so essentially anything that is affecting you mentally, physically or emotionally can affect our skin. After all everything in our body is connected. Stress is a huge factor, not only does stress cause breakouts, it can cause your skin to become drier, oilier or prone to more difficult issues to get rid of such as, hyper pigmentation and wrinkles.


There are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind to ensure you are taking care of your skin to minimize potential issues in the long run. Beginning with, taking care of your mental health and dealing with stress in the healthiest way possible, that may include meditation, exercise, outdoor activities, bubble baths or a detoxifying salt baths, reading a good book or your bible. The point is here to make sure that you are taking the steps that will not allow your stress to become overwhelming. Have you

heard of the saying you are what you eat? Well its quite true, what you put in your body is what your body is using for fuel, so make sure you are eating healthy, organic foods. Taking supplements and minerals will also work wonders for your skin.


What your applying on your face and body is essential as well. Avoid using products that contain parabens, sulfates, fragrances as these are irritants to the skin and can cause issues in the long run to your body internally. Natural products are so much easier to find nowadays, simply because people are realizing its important to use products with quality ingredients. There are a few key products to make sure you have in your skincare arsenal. A quality facial cleanser, toner, exfoliant and a moisturizer and/ or serum, you could also add an eye cream depending on your age or needs. You will also want to add a weekly mask to detoxify your pores and/ or provide hydration, again it all depends on what your personal needs are. Also, you should use those products in the order that they are mentioned.
